Pinkunoizu-Free Time! Album Review

"Free Time"! is the full length follow up to Pinkunoizu's PEEP EP, released last year. An 8 song length album, it offers up more of the same musical experimentation as its predecessor. Two songs namely, "Time is like a melody" and "Everything is broken or stolen", have made the album and fall into place seamlessley with the new songs here. "Myriad Pyramid" starts off oddly sounding horns or maybe it's distorted shouting-(it's hard to tell!) before breaking into jagged guitars and haunting vocals. "Parabolic Delusions" is the albums poppiest moments here, with a more straightforward tune easily catching the attention. The album is full of electronic pieces with odd sounding samples and beats, none more so than on the 8 minute finale of "Sombre Ground". "Free Time"! is certainly a more rounded follow up, chock full of instrumental experimentation with a few good tunes thrown in. So, it's not music to everyone's taste, and some it seems to be a bit "out there" however, there's plenty on offer to keep the listener interested.
